Congratulations to APhil alumnus Alex Cotet and alumna Andrea Huete!

The Spanish Society for Logic and Philosophy of Science has awarded the prize for the best master thesis of 2022-2023 to APhil alumnus Alex Cotet, for his thesis "God and Necessity. The Ontological Argument and Plantinga’s Modal Argument", supervised by José Martínez (University of Barcelona)
Congratulations to the winner! The prize consists of a 500 € endowment, in addition to the publication of the work in the SLMFCE Journal.
The resolution of this award developed in two phases. A first elimination phase by blind review, and a second phase in which the 5 best preselected theses were studied by a committee of 5 specialists (which includes three members of the Society), and who made the final decision.
In addition to the award-winning work, the other 4 works shortlisted in this second phase were:
- "You shall not lie nor mislead (unless it is a need)", by ANDREA HUETE RODRÍGUEZ, tutored by Teresa Marques. Andrea is an APhil alumna and PhD student with BIAP.
- "Computer simulation and scientific experimentation: a critical review of philosophical comparisons", by PABLO LIMA HERNÁNDEZ, tutored by Iñaki San Pedro,
- "Intuitionist logic in the foundation of mathematics", by RODRIGO BLANCO BETES, tutored by Umberto Riviecco,
- "Truthlikeness and Probabilistic Truths. The Problem of Delimiting a Probabilistic Target", by SAÚL ÁLVAREZ ARIAS, tutored by María Caamaño.
