The APhil MA was the most exciting experience of my academic education. Besides the quality of teaching, the program’s coordination, and the variety of subjects offered, I would like to highlight a few aspects that make it truly special.

First, the program emphasises student autonomy, treating students as researchers rather than just listeners. The course format, which often resembles a reading group, requires preparation and reading before sessions and encourages active participation, which is always valued as coming from an equal peer. Additionally, we were invited to take part in many activities organised by the LOGOS and BIAP research groups. These groups are outstanding, and their members are highly welcoming and attentive to students, fostering a strong sense of integration.

Second, I deeply appreciated the student group. Not only did I have the chance to meet people from all over the world with diverse educational backgrounds, but, most importantly, the level of philosophical discussion was impressive. The sessions were engaging and created a constructive atmosphere where I felt relaxed and confident to participate. We became close friends, supporting and learning from one another, and having fun both in and out of class, where we made lots of plans together.

I would highly recommend this MA to anyone interested in pursuing research in philosophy.
