Undoubtedly the Aphil master was an excellent preparation for academic research. The courses were well balanced, providing a necessary background in all major areas of analytic philosophy. Teachers were experts in their fields and were also welcoming and dedicated, stimulating engagement with philosophical problems; analysis, discussion, and development of ideas, all crucial skills for academic research. As a master student I benefitted enormously from participation in the various activities of the Logos group, a leading research group in the field that emphasizes high-quality philosophical discussion and is also a friendly community with frequent interactions between staff and students. I can’t recommend enough this course to those interested in pursuing advance graduate work.
